Sweeney & King is a professional collaboration between two writers who have spent decades honing their skills for other organisations. Wiltshire-based and serving clients remotely across the UK, their backgrounds encompass fields as diverse as construction, wine, sport and literature. Armed with a wealth of knowledge and experience, both are published authors who have contributed scores of articles to newspapers and magazines, as well as (occasionally award winning) short stories, press releases, bids and more.
With a suite of collaborators on hand to lend their skills at editing, layout, journalism, interviews and more, Sweeney & King's modus operandi is to provide a professional product with an indy publishing mindset.
Patrice Sweeney
Patrice is an experienced freelance writer and writing consultant. She harnesses her skills to provide content that’s informative, compelling, and complies with her client's needs. She flexes her writing talent across technical and creative fields such as bids, web copy and blog posts. Whilst doing so, she provides extra resource, guidance and a keen collaborative spirit to client teams who are inexperienced, stretched thin, or simply want an extra hand in making their content as effective as possible.
In her capacity as a writing consultant, she diagnoses opportunities for improvement across underperforming content. This includes, but isn’t limited to, analysing the text to see if it addresses the brief, captures relevant information, and demonstrates correct grammar and punctuation. She also considers whether the document’s design elements and layout suitably support the content and facilitate the audience’s reading experience.
Patrice’s background includes construction, tech, travel, luxury and health. An expert at layout design, she's passionate about supporting words through eye-catching and on-brand visuals. When not collaborating with S&K customers, she likes to write the kind of fantasy fiction that keeps you up at night.

Brand King
Brand has worked in the wine industry for the last 12 years, where amongst other roles he helped create website copy for retailers, as well as composing the blurb on the back of numerous wine labels. He also has years of experience writing press releases, articles, sports reports and blogs for numerous publications here and in Australia. His first novel, An Irish Winter, was published in 2020 by Choir Press.
Brand also likes his coffee black and enjoyed in various styles of cups.
